We like (or dislike) things in culture without necessarily being able to tell ourselves exactly why. A big idea is that we seek in art what we don’t have quite enough of in our lives. Around culture, we’re often drawn to things that compensate us for what we lack internally.
For some, they may be drawn to a busy and colorful photo or piece of art to hang in their living room, while others gravitate towards something a little more tranquil to divert them from their many responsibilities.
